Pastor Farron Duncan was born and raised in rural Columbus County, North Carolina. Upon graduation from high school, Farron received an Associate degree in Turf Science and worked as a golf course superintendent in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area. He then joined the United States Air Force and following that, worked at the Savannah River Site (SRS), a Department of Energy facility for a number of years.

Pastor Duncan and his wife Trish met while working at the SRS and have been married for 34 years. They have one daughter Farrah Lasley, who is married to Colin Lasley, and have one granddaughter, Carleigh, who reside in Maggie Valley, NC.

As time progressed, Pastor Duncan felt and accepted God’s call into ministry. Through much prayer and discernment, he began attending Mount Olive University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in business management. He then attended Duke University and earned a Master of Divinity degree.

After accepting God’s call, Pastor Duncan experienced a passion for proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ and sharing God’s Word. He has been involved in service ministry throughout the southeastern United States and abroad in Africa and El Salvador. Pastor Duncan has been in pastoral ministry for more than 22 years, serving churches throughout North Carolina. He is currently serving Plains Methodist Church and is excited for what the future holds for this community.

In addition, Farron enjoys spending time with his family and hiking in the Smokies with his favorite hiking partner Josie, who is the families’ much beloved German Shepherd. They now reside in their home in Maggie Valley near their family.
